Graduation

Well - finally after 8 years I have my bachelors degree in Education! I am a certified teacher. This has been such a long ride - I don't know when I will actually feel like I don't have homework lolol.

I had so many friends and family share this day with me yesterday!!! The kids and Gary threw a surprise party for me last night and we had a blast! It was such a fun day!!!

Christmas is upon us - take time to remember that Wise Men Still Seek Him!!

Christmas Christmas Christmas

That time is upon us! Our church has been doing a series on The Advent Conspiracy. Really makes us think about what we do during this precious season. Do we support commercialism too much or do we really use this time to show our love for our Savior and spread the word. I think what our pastor said was good: Don't stop buying and decorating just do it less and spend more time doing the work we are supposed to do - spread the word that Jesus Christ is our Savior. Pray more for those lost in this wicked world. The world wants us to think that the more we spend the better off we are....that isn't so. We need to be frugal with what God has given us. Find a family that needs your help.

Just a thought, pray more, spend less.

Merry Christmas!!

I'm so glad we have this time to share God's love! Thank you Jesus for sending your Son to save us. Jesus is the reason for THIS season!!!

God Bless!

Thanksgiving!!!

Chase and Peyton at TJC game

Kenzi playing at Chuck E Cheese!

Kenzi and Peyton at church
Sweet Peyton
Well things change alot around here! lol. We were going to Arizona to spend Thanksgiving with the kids but we just couldn't work everyone's schedule out in time to plan a 14 drive there and back. The Kids were supposed to be coming in for Christmas but that looks like it isn't happening either. Uuggghhhh - BUT - not to worry - I am planning a trip there after Christmas! and I can't wait to see those grandbabies! Kenzi is just talking up a storm and Peyton is getting his 2 top teeth in! I am excited to see their new home!
This time of year brings alot of fun times to the Satterwhite's household. I will graduate on 12/19 and I cannot wait to not have to do another essay anytime soon! Christmas brings many performances that Gary and I will be playing for and lots and lots of parties to partake of.
This Thanksgiving - Thank God for giving you life! Thank the troops for providing freedom to us in America and hug all the members of your family. Things change in the blink of an eye and no one is guaranteed earthly life - only Heavenly life.

I pray that if you are reading this, you are a Christ follower and have your life right with him! My prayer for this Thanksgiving is that all of my family and friends have a personal relationship with our Christ and want to live a life that is pleasing to him!

Happy Thanksgiving - Blessings to All!!

Delivered Safe and Sound

Well - last Friday we took Misti, Kenzi, Peyton and the new addition Dolly (the dog) to Las Cruces New Mexico to meet Shaun. It was a great trip except for the drama of the meeting place and time - long story - but we made it all safe and sound. We got a hotel room and slept for a couple of hours. I got up and showered, Gary showered - we were trying to be so quiet since it was 4 AM!!! but I hear this whimper - Peyton is awake! I grab him and try to start a bottle - then I see Kenzi's sweet face looking at me smiling - I just said ok - everyone up! lol. We finished getting ready and said our goodbyes - not willingly though and not without a few tears and we left on our trek back to Heath.

They are all set up in their house in Tucson and are loving it.

We are trying to work out going for Thanksgiving - I'm just not set on driving 14 hours - as you can imagine! lolol But will do it for Grandbabies kisses!

Find something to be thankful for - God is so good to his children.

Will post pics soon.

Yea - the family from Italy is back in the state of Texas!!!! We've had a great time with them all! Last night the families got together at our house and had dinner and fun and fellowship. Today we were supposed to be at the fair but we're not going today! The weather isn't cooperating so we're going to El Fenix instead and I'm keeping the g-babies for a bit! woohoo...Kenzi loves to play the piano and has a great time sitting with her Pops! Marshall and Jen came with Luke and Reed - OMG they are cutie pies and Kenzi and Reed looked adorable playing together - they are just one month apart! It was such a great evening - then Kenzi and Peyton slept well for the parents!!!

9/11

This day is a day that pretty much everyone will NEVER forget where they were and what they were doing at that moment they were showing the twin towers going down.

We are very blessed in this country.

Many thanks to our troops for keeping us safe and fighting for our freedoms. Sometimes I think that we as Americans are so spoiled that we really don't have any idea how fortunate we are. I never want to take our freedom for granted.

23 more days till the kids are here!

God Bless America!

Wow It's been a wild month!!

A couple of pics of the kids..my precious Grandbabies!! I cannot wait until they are back into the states!!!!!!
2 more weeks and the kiddos and teachers are back in school - I'm getting excited - I love my job!!!!!

Chase is moved back to Tyler into his apt with Joey. It's a cute apt!!! Candace is doing well there also - cute house! She trying to work a bunch before school starts - sometimes the hospital messes that plan up - but you know - you can never mess up God's plan. Pray for his guidance through all endeavors!

Gary and I are back to empty nesters! Last year it didn't hit me as hard because I was so hard into school and gone every day of the week!! This fall I have 3 classes - 2 face to face and 1 online! I cannot believe it - I graduate in December!!! I take my certification test Aug 29 - please pray this is the first ECE - 6 test offered and I'm a bit nervous! But back to the empty nesters - I think this fall will be harder. I know we've raised our kiddos - all of them - to know right from wrong and that it's time to spread their wings and take on their own life - fun and not so fun. I just pray that they all follow our God in fellowship and worship - dig into a church and do what we are told to do - lead others to Christ and worship Him. There are so many ways within a church to help - find one today and be an example!! Praying for our kids!!!

On a sad note a little boy in our neighborhood, going into 4th grade, passed away Tuesday. His name is Loren - please pray for this family. Hug and kiss your kids for only God knows the number of days on this earth for us all.
~Blessings to all~
Ciao for now

Wow

So you worked hard, you try to find something you enjoy and BAM someone just thinks they can steal your stuff - well obviously they can!

I think I have my traveling feet back in the states now - meaning I'm back on our time frame finally!!! I miss Italy and everyone but so glad to be where I can understand the language lol. We had a wonderful time and saw lots of great things and had a marvelous time with Shaun, Misti, Kenzi and Peyton. Can't wait for them to get here in October!

24 Wonderful Years

Today is our 24th anniversary!!! When people ask how long we've been married and we tell them, most of the time the response is wow - 24 years. You know, when you get married life is great, everything is wonderful and beautiful. Marriage is not always wonderful and beautiful but God helps us through everyone hill and mountain we experience! I pray we have 24 more years at least together!!! Our children deserve to see a marriage that is strong and loving and a legacy for them.

Happy Anniversary honey!!!

Swine Flu Swine Flu

OMG OMG OMG!!!!

What in the world is going on? Did the government need a deturant from their problems so now we cancel everything for the swine flu?

Rockwall ISD has cancelled all field trips which entails our yearly trip to San Antonio for an overnight trip with 200 children. What a nightmare trying to get their money back.

This just all doesn't make sense. We have hundreds out of school in February and no on cancelled school but we have 1 or 2 out and bam! Schools close for a week.

Can someone please make sense of this for all of those involved? We do not understand how a couple of cases of a flu we don't know a whole lot about can cause such havic when our normal flu season kills thousands of people a year and now one gets all excited about that!

Just take normal precautions and be safe.

Gary is home from Italy and I am counting down the days - one month from today and we'll be in Italy!!!! I cannot wait!!!

Life is Fragile

The past two weeks we have heard and seen people dieing of illness or self inflicted wounds. My Goodness! It just brings to my mind how fragile life is and how important it is to be close to our friends and family. I just hold onto the fact that God is so in control of my life, I would never intentionally want to change God's plan for my life. It just breaks my heart that there are people in the world that can't handle life and the things going around them so much that they want to end their life. I pray for those! I pray for those in their families and I pray for my family and friends each and every day that God's protection and comfort will be upon them!

On a happy note - My precious hubby is going to Italy in 1 week to see the Burns kids and grandkids!!! I can't wait to get pictures from him.......

and I have 5 weeks left of school - I am so burned out!!!! But can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!!!!

Kiddos are coming home for Easter - can't wait to see them!

Pray that everyone has a Glorious Easter!

Christ Arose!!!!!

Spring

Hubby and I just got back from Tyler - camping and visiting with the kiddos! Kids are back from spring break - a great time had by all that went skiing. They are all back in school...Daughter is doing good with nursing school and son is doing great with his athletic training. He is still a bit sore from 4-wheeling but coming along nicely!

Hubby and I camped at a place that we probably won't go again to but is was good and had wi-fi so we didn't get too bored. We saw the azaleas in Tyler - boy are they pretty!!! The houses in Tyler remind me of Highland Park. If I was through with school - it probably wouldn't take much for us to pick up and move there. We just love it but I hate the traffic!!!

Spring is here and the weather has been beautiful. Enjoy what God is giving us!!!!

~Blessings~

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Oh My Goodness!!!

So our youngest son came home yesterday for spring break. He took off with his buddies to Royse City to ride 4 wheelers. We got a call around 6:30 ish that youngest son's vehicle flipped over on top of him....but he was good....they brought him to the hospital in Rockwall which was absolutely PACKED!!! We got there at 7 and didn't leave until around midnight. Broken ribs is all he has except for a few bruises and scratches. He did have his helmet on! We have an awesome God!!!!

Middle daughter is in Ruidoso skiing with 5 of her friends. It rained all day yesterday so they were not too happy! Hopefully today will be better.

Kiss your kids all you can - tell them you love them everyday - you never know when it's your last............

March Madness

Elvis

Well March is here and off to a bang. We had TAKS testing yesterday which I think is absolutely stupid! But then no one asked me lol. I think it was the longest test taking day of the year!

We are counting the days to spring break. Candace and Chase have spring break next week. Mine is the next. Candace is going skiing - hopefully to have a great time. Chase doesn't have plans due to his basketball season. Hopefully he will get to come home.

19 days until Peyton's due date! OMG!!! I cannot wait to see him!!! and Kenzi Lynn!!!

Chase tested out of his math class and he was so excited and of course we were too!!! Seems like he's doing well in school! My nephew Trevor was nominated and chosen to the Student of the year at Cain Middle School for the Rotary Club. He also won this in 6th grade. We are sooooo proud of him!!! You rock Trevor!!!!!

We obtained a new dog last night - he slept in bed with us last night and booted Gary out of bed! lol...Gary came back to find him sleeping on his pillow - needless to say, Elvis, yes that is his name and we didn't name him - might change it - he will not be sleeping with us again...according to Gary haha.

Church has really been awesome the last few weeks...making me think about who I am and who I should be......hhhhhmmmmm What would God label me as???

Blessings!

Life

I just love life!!

I love the life that God has given me! Everything about it!!! I love the fact that sometimes I'm so busy I can't see beyond the minute! I love that Shaun and Misti have spent 4 years in Italy enjoying the beautiful sites even though we don't get to see them much. I love that Kenzi will have picture memories of being in a foreign country.

I know that seems strange! There is a reason why they are there, there is a reason why we are so busy and I have to Thank God for everything in my life - good or bad!

Sometimes we just need to sit back and thank God for the life he gives us every single day! We may think that it's the most horrible day we have ever had - but just think - we are still breathing or we wouldn't know it's the most horrible day. God knows the plan for us no matter what we think! He knows our ups and downs and he comforts us when we have a bad day or month or year. He allows some of us to be comforters for others. God is good...every day every minute every second..

I love life!

May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You

Let my lifesong sing to You
Let my lifesong sing to You
I want to sign Your name to the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to You Casting Crowns

Life - hhmmmmmm

My love and joy and I at Elite's in Waco!!!!
I don't know about you but when the President was speaking last night - I just really didn't care to listen. It's not so much that I didn't support him with my vote - it's that I don't think that spending Billions of dollars to supposedly get us going is smart - spend more- owe more..What the heck are they thinking. oh well!!!!

I have completed 2 of my 9 classes so 7 to go! Yea Yea Yea!

Payton has about 6 weeks before he is welcomed into this world!!! I cannot wait to see him! Kenzi is precious - she is learning more and more everyday! Misti is doing such a great job with her! I know Misti is exhausted! Shaun has been on TDY so it's just been her and Kenzi Lynn!

We need to pray for our Country! Sometimes when everyone is getting so uptight about the situation in our world, I just look at them and say to myself - why so upset - God knows what is going to happen and getting all worked up isn't going to change the outcome - getting involved might! I don't understand politics and really don't care to!

Facebook is becoming very interesting - so many people from our past are on there now and it's so much fun catching up with everyone! I just wish Gary enjoyed "stalking" FB as much as I do hahahaha. I have found people that I haven't seen since Hood and some that I know have given Christ their lives and it's so much fun catching up and seeing changes!!! Lori Keahey and I were talking on Facebook and she said you know you and I have become Family! She is so right we are sisters in Christ!!! I love it! Meeting new family members everyday!

Enjoy life!

Weekends

I am longing for a long weekend!!! All of these classes are overcrowding my brain!!!!! OMG! Seriously - I just have to keep telling myself that I can do it.

Shaun and Misti and Kenzi have a new dog!! His name is Charlie!!! Isn't he cute!!!! and of course Kenzi is beautiful!!!! It's getting closer and closer for Peyton Shaun to arrive!!! We are working on Gary going out in April - hopefully with free miles to celebrate Kenzi turning 2 and Peyton being born!!!

Gary and I are having a very much needed date night tonight with friends!!!! Then all day tomorrow I will be working on homework for the 7 classes I have! Crazy!
Chase is busy at school and so is Candace. Candace had her first hospital day on Wed and loved it!!
God sure is teaching me patience! I can't seem to get anything completed!! and OH YEA
My Cricut died and I was ready to have to purchase a new one and they sent me one for $50!!! I was so excited - thank you for the small things in life lolol.
I went to a funeral today for a mom of one of our Diagnosticians here at school. Just keeps putting everything in perspective - our days here on Earth are so numbered! She wasn't sick. Just died! Could happen to any of us at any time - are you ready? Have you made Jesus Christ number 1 in your life? I hope and pray that you have!
Who am I,
that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I,
that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart
Who Am I,
that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who Am I,
that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me
I am Yours
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear'
Cause I am Yours
I am Yours
Casting Crowns
Blessings!!

Praise God!!!!

Our daughter-in-laws parents joined a small baptist church!!! They are getting involved and it's glorious! It is so good to hear about them making new friends at their new church. Her brothers and their families are there and Shaun and Misti will find a church they like when they are back in the states.

God is Good!!!!!!

Another Week.....

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. ~Psalm 118:24

No matter what comes our way we should always praise God and rejoice what he as given us! So much is going on around us!!

We were sitting at lunch today - a group of middle school teachers - talking about our kiddos in today's time! Whew - they are tough. What happened to discipline? What happened to morals? What happened to respect your elders? Where did we all go wrong? Teaching today is tough! These kids and it's not all but an overwhelming few just are extremely tough, disrespectful, unruly yet have a loving side to them! Sometimes you just shake your head! Parents think - my kid would never do that! Ha Ha!!! And yes I have had parents tell me well you just have one side of the story and the story didn't include anyone else! lolol

I have to pray every morning that I have the patients that is needed to make it through the day and hopefully will show the children love and respect. I pray that my life is an example to each and every one of them.

Pray for our children everyday - they are our future and praise God if you "get" to work with children!

Back in the Swing of things.....

Time flies!!! Enough said! ha

We are all back into our routines of school and work and school and school and work. I should add church into that group because our church didn't have ABF for 2 weeks in December - and we missed 3 because we were practicing during ABF. I really like The Heights - I just wish it wasn't so far away from Heath!!!! Come on 190!!!

Chase is back at TJC for another semester. He says he is going to class this time lololol. I pray for him daily that he see how important college is in today's times!

Candace started nursing school last week and calls almost everyday with a new adventure!!! I love it.

My 27 hours is in progress - TAMU started back up this week. Boy I'm tired!

Gary is back into work - gotta love work!!!

We are through with the inauguration - I did watch it and thought the Bush Family was most gracious. I did not vote for Obama but I know that I am to life him up in prayer everyday and support him as our new President. I wish I knew what God's plan was for our country!!!!!!! But then I'd be God and I'm thinking that's not a good thing! lolol I am proud of the 43rd president and loved his little speech about his convictions and that he's the same person as when he started this venture 8 years ago!

All is back in the saddle in the Satterwhite Family!!

Happy New Year 2009

Well - we made it through 2008 and now it's 1/1/2009. Chase went back to Tyler this morning for training, Candace made it home after NYE in Big D. We spent the day with Mom, Dad, Kathy and Jerry Ivey and Candace and Brendan. It's been a great start to the New Year!

Talked to Shaun, Misti and Kenzi Lynn this morning. They were eating their black-eye peas and watching football games today! Kenzi is absolutely precious!!!!

We had a great party last night at our friends, the Fugitts with them and the Hill's bringing in the New Year. We had great food and played domin-yoes!!!! What a fun time!

I thank God for all the people that he has put in our paths! We have such wonderful friends, some new and some from way back that we are so fortunate to keep in touch with. Each and everyone of you are special in our hearts.I pray that 2009 is a great year for all - I know God has big things in store for us!

I pray that we all do our best to be what God wants us to be, do what God wants us to do and love like God wants us to love in 2009.

Blessings to you all!

Happy New Year!
